Nouran El-khattam is a design architect, a teaching assistant and a researcher in the Department of Architecture at the American University in Cairo (AUC), where she recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering. Currently she is a member of the Architecture Alumni Association at AUC. Through her research, she aims to give back to communities and redefine space across the design sector. Nouran is highly interested in interdisciplinary projects where ideas and skills can be exchanged across varied institutions on both the national and international scale. She seeks to understand the complex role architecture can play in varied aspects of society and is actively interested in forging connections to solve uprising challenges in the industry.
Engaged Sustainable Futures offers a platform for interdisciplinary ventures that aim to uncover the many possible sustainable futures of the built environment. Based in the Department of Architecture at the American University in Cairo, ESF MAM-BE achieves its vision through research, pedagogy, and creation.
